Kitchens

The homeowners had outgrown their existing kitchen and wanted a space that better supported the way they lived and entertained. The kitchen lacked the size, storage, and functionality they needed, while the home’s overall layout no longer fit their family’s lifestyle. Their vision was to create a spacious modern farmhouse kitchen that served as the heart of the home while improving the flow between the kitchen, mudroom, outdoor living spaces, and the rest of the first floor.

Hurst Design Build Remodel designed a substantial rear addition to accommodate an expansive new kitchen and gathering space. The original kitchen was repurposed into a functional mudroom and powder room, creating a more efficient floor plan and improving the home’s organization. The new kitchen was thoughtfully designed around a large center island, abundant custom cabinetry, and generous natural light, while updated windows and doors strengthened the connection between the interior and outdoor living spaces. Carefully selected modern farmhouse finishes complete the design with a clean, welcoming aesthetic.

• Spacious rear kitchen addition with an open-concept layout centered around a large island for meal preparation and gathering
• Custom Mullet cabinetry with integrated storage solutions and Top Knobs hardware
• Caesarstone Symphony Gray quartz countertops paired with an MSI Stone tile backsplash
• Kohler and Elkay plumbing fixtures selected for durability and everyday performance
• Dedicated mudroom and powder room created from the original kitchen footprint to improve organization and household functionality
• Cambridge doors, red oak hardwood flooring, and a Sherwin Williams color palette that reinforce the home’s modern farmhouse character
• Large windows and glass doors that fill the kitchen with natural light and create a strong connection to the outdoor living spaces
• Layered lighting with recessed fixtures, decorative pendants, and under cabinet lighting that enhances both function and atmosphere

The completed renovation transformed the home with a spacious kitchen designed for everyday living and entertaining. The expanded layout, custom cabinetry, premium finishes, and seamless connection to the surrounding living and outdoor spaces create a warm, functional gathering place that serves as the centerpiece of this beautifully updated modern farmhouse.
