Rocky River Whole Home Renovation & Addition
Home Additions & Whole House
About This Project
The Homeowner’s Challenge
The owners had a home that no longer matched how they lived. They needed more space, a layout that connected the main living areas, and a dedicated creative space for music.
Hurst’s Approach
Hurst carried out a whole-home renovation paired with a new addition, updating the main floor, primary suite, and basement as part of a cohesive design. Stone archways and consistent materials, including weathered oak, antiqued Mullwood’s cabinetry, and medium-toned LVP wood look flooring, tie the rooms together. The lower level was finished to add usable square footage.
Key Design Features
- Kitchen: Mullwoods cabinetry, leathered J’adore quartzite, weathered oak island, Kohler farmhouse sink, GE Cafe appliances, Zephyr hood, Merola backsplash tile
- Primary suite addition: marble shower, Australian Pearl Quartzite counters, Mullwoods double vanity, American Olean lantern mosaic niche, custom walk-in closet, stone accent wall
- Open concept living: stacked stone archways and Marvin windows
- Finished basement: sound-treated home recording studio, laundry, and workshop
- Throughout: IFC Monteagle Oak LVT flooring, Sherwin-Williams paint, Baird Brothers doors
Outcome
A unified, move-in-ready home that adds space and function for both family life and creative work.
