Our reputation in Strongsville and throughout Southwest Cuyahoga County is built on a foundation of exceptional craftsmanship, transparent communication, and genuine care for every client’s vision.

NARI Certified Excellence: Our team includes Master Certified Remodelers (MCR), a designation held by fewer than 300 professionals nationwide. This certification represents our commitment to industry-leading standards and continuous professional development.

Industry-Leading 5-Year Warranty: We stand behind every project with a comprehensive 5-year warranty–one of the most robust guarantees in the remodeling industry. This isn’t just a piece of paper; it’s our promise that we’ll be here long after your project is complete.

Award-Winning Design Team: Our in-house designers have earned recognition throughout Greater Cleveland for their ability to balance aesthetic vision with practical functionality. Every design decision serves your lifestyle.

Local Permitting Expertise: Strongsville’s building department maintains specific requirements for residential renovations. Our team navigates the permitting process efficiently, ensuring your project meets all municipal codes and progresses without unnecessary delays.

Strong Referral Base: The majority of our clients come through referrals from satisfied homeowners. In communities like Strongsville, where neighbors talk and reputation matters, this speaks volumes about the experience we deliver.

We worked with Pat Hurst of Hurst Design Build a while back on a partial kitchen remodel and main floor bathroom remodel. Having built a prior trust and appreciation of their craftsmanship we contracted with them again for a full kitchen and master bath remodel. The entire process working with Kara Shelley, Melissa Hurst, Dina Jereb, Brian Hurst, Danny Mize, Amy Tilow, Ryan Wallace and Doug Dilley proved to be well worth it! Danny Mize and Mark Ballok were just here to do an annual review to evaluate their work under warranty. Such a nice service! All were professional, kind and responsive to deliver our beautiful remodel.

Hurst Design is in the midst of completing a kitchen remodel for my home. They brought the to room down to the studs and did complete buildout using multiple trades. The project designer, Jessica, was a good listener. She was very patient in working through our desired result, taking the time to jointly attend our visits their network of multiple suppliers (counter tops, plumbing fixture,...) and timely perform redesigns upon request. Kevin and Danny, our Product and Project managers visited the job site frequently to monitor progress and make sure the final product would meet our needs. Change orders were met with a "can do" attitude. The carpenters, Doug and Mike, were talented perfectionist. They produced many items on-site. They welcomed all of the challenges we presented them, including the late addition of a pocket door. The apprentice, Zach, spent many hours keeping the site clean. He took great pride in the result. Their staff is very professional and respectful towards their customer. Communication, included meeting an owner, Pat Hurst, during the design phase made us very comfortable in our choice to use them. Thank you.

Hurst completed a remodel of our 90+ year old basement into a speakeasy with wine room. TJ helped us figure out what we wanted and what it might cost. Kara was our designer and she did a great job capturing the look we were after. Danny led the team and kept us informed every step of the way as he and Doug and Matt completed key items like the millwork, bookcase door, and installation of a very heavy fireplace mantle. Fabio did great work on the flooring. Joey did all the electrical including replacement of old knob and tube. They all worked together to create an ideal basement space that is both new and still looks like it belongs in our old tudor home.

The team at Hurst is so wonderful to work with. They truly put the customer first. Every part of the process you feel cared for and heard. This process was more like having a trustworthy friend over than a contractor. It’s hard to wind contractors that hold themselves accountable and communicate effectively. Everyone I’ve ever worked with at Hurst shows nothing but the highest level of integrity in everything they do. It truly was a pleasure working with them.

There is so much to love about Hurst-Design, Build and Remodel. The first thing that drew me to Hurst is that they are a local, family run business. There is something to be said for starting a business with your family in a garage and decades later being one of the top businesses to work for. Secondly, Hurst has created a gem of a company that offers clients a full service one stop shop experience. They are attentive to the clients wants, needs and wishes, opening the door for a partnership through the remodel process. Lastly, the entire Hurst family/company is warm, professional and truly works for perfection. They make what could be an overwhelming process, fun and exciting. You absolutely CAN NOT go wrong with Hurst!!

We recently completed a remodel and addition with Hurst Design Build Remodel, and the experience was wonderful. Not only was their execution of the highest quality, but their process, personnel, and support also sets them apart. From start to finish, the team was outstanding, with those leading our project to the individuals completing the work each day. Amy seamlessly guided us through the process, ensuring we were informed and confident every step of the way. Bridget brought her expertise and creativity to the design, offering thoughtful and beautiful solutions that perfectly suited our needs. Kevin flawlessly managed the build execution, keeping us informed and on track. He was a master at managing every detail, from the interrelated schedules to managing all the trades, all while providing centralized support and collaborative discussions on decisions along the way. The final result exceeded our expectations: a beautiful, thoughtfully designed space that reflects high-quality materials and craftsmanship. We also appreciated their incorporation of advanced tools that allowed us to visualize the project at each phase. This innovative approach enabled us to make informed decisions with confidence, enhancing the overall experience. We couldn’t be happier with the outcome and recommend Hurst Design Build Remodel to anyone looking for exceptional design, craftsmanship, and customer care.

We recently had two major renovations completed at our home, using Hurst Design Build Remodel. In 2022, Hurst built an exterior room addition and a new front porch, along with new siding and stonework; and in 2024, Hurst completed an interior renovation, including new flooring and paint throughout the house, and an updated kitchen and two bathrooms. Hurst provided excellent design services for both projects, incorporated the ideas we discussed, and guided us throughout the selection process. The Hurst team is organized and goes to great lengths to document and communicate the work they are doing. The schedule, daily logs (with photos each day of the work done), selections, and changes, were all documented for us to review at any time. In addition, the Project Manager held and documented weekly update meetings, to review what was completed last week, and to discuss what was scheduled for the coming week. All of the Hurst employees, and their sub-contractors, performed excellent quality work in a professional and friendly manner. They kept the worksite clean throughout both projects. Hurst pays great attention to post-construction follow-up. They have a dedicated team that is working with us to finish our 11-month punch list. In summary, we are extremely pleased with their work and personnel. We would recommend Hurst Design Build Remodel without reservation.
