The Homeowner’s Challenge

The homeowners wanted to modernize their kitchen without changing the character of their home. The existing peninsula restricted movement and separated the kitchen from the dining area, making the space feel smaller and less functional. Their goal was to create a brighter, more open kitchen with better flow, updated finishes, and a central gathering space for family and guests.

Hurst’s Approach

Hurst Design Build Remodel reconfigured the layout by removing the peninsula and replacing it with a spacious center island, creating a more open connection between the kitchen and dining room. The design introduced custom Omega and Schrock cabinetry, premium natural stone countertops, and a custom coffered ceiling that complements the home’s existing architectural details. New lighting, updated finishes, and improved storage completed the transformation while maintaining the home’s classic style.
