Lakewood Historic Charm Kitchen

About This Project
The Homeowner's Challenge
The homeowners wanted to preserve the historic character of their Lakewood home while creating a kitchen that better suited modern living. Their existing kitchen lacked functionality, storage, and connection to the rest of the home. They also hoped to incorporate a new mudroom and bathroom addition while maintaining the home’s original architectural charm.
Hurst's Approach
Hurst Design Build Remodel completely reconfigured the kitchen and expanded the home’s functionality by adding a mudroom, bathroom, and rear porch. Custom quarter-sawn oak cabinetry, reclaimed wood accents, and carefully selected natural materials honored the home’s historic character while introducing modern conveniences. The redesigned layout improved workflow, increased storage, and created a warm, welcoming space that feels original to the home.
