Cleveland Heights Classic Kitchen
Kitchens
About This Project
The Homeowner's Challenge
The homeowners wanted to modernize their Cleveland Heights kitchen while preserving the classic character of their historic home. The existing layout was constrained by a secondary staircase and chimney, limiting both workspace and natural light. They also wanted better connections to the dining area and outdoor living spaces while improving the home’s functionality for everyday living.
Hurst's Approach
Hurst Design Build Remodel reimagined the kitchen by removing the rear staircase to the second floor and eliminating the chimney, allowing for a significantly larger and more functional kitchen footprint. A new sliding glass door and expanded window openings brought in more natural light and strengthened the connection to the backyard deck. Throughout the remodel, the team carefully balanced modern conveniences with design details that complement the home’s traditional architecture.
