Basements

The homeowners wanted to transform their unfinished basement into a modern, craftsman-inspired lower level that would serve as the ultimate gathering space for family and friends. Their goals included a spacious wet bar that opened to a family and theater area, a dedicated home office, a large exercise room, and a powder room, all while creating an open, inviting layout with abundant storage and architectural character.

Hurst Design Build Remodel reimagined the lower level as a collection of connected living spaces centered around a custom entertainment bar and family room. Opening the staircase created a stronger connection to the main level, while custom Schrock cabinetry, craftsman-style millwork, and durable finishes established a cohesive design throughout. Every space was planned to maximize functionality, whether entertaining guests, working from home, or staying active.

• Custom Schrock cabinetry with Top Knobs hardware

• Grey Lagoon quartz countertops

• Large entertainment bar with a white oak peninsula and seating

• Delta faucet paired with a Blanco bar sink

• COREtec Elster Oak luxury vinyl plank flooring throughout the entertainment areas

• Flaviker tile backsplash and powder room flooring

• Custom Baird Brothers trim, crown molding, doors, and stair components

• Open staircase with decorative railing connecting the basement to the main level

• Dedicated family and theater room with built-in media wall

• Private home office with sliding barn door

• Spacious exercise room with rubber flooring

• Sherwin-Williams paint throughout the lower level

• Under-cabinet lighting, recessed LED lighting, and decorative pendant lighting at the bar

The completed basement functions as a true extension of the home, providing flexible spaces for entertaining, working, exercising, and relaxing. The open layout, craftsman-inspired details, custom wet bar, and premium finishes create a welcoming lower level that balances everyday functionality with timeless style.
