Bay Village English Pub Inspired Basement
Basements
About This Project
The Homeowner's Challenge
The homeowners wanted to transform a dark, compartmentalized basement into an open, welcoming entertainment space inspired by the warmth and character of a traditional English pub. They envisioned improved flow, better connectivity between spaces, and a lower level that could comfortably accommodate entertaining, media viewing, and everyday relaxation.
Hurst's Approach
Hurst Design Build Remodel completely reconfigured the lower level by removing structural walls and posts, replacing them with a steel beam to create an expansive open floor plan. A new floating staircase with glass railings increased natural light and visual connection between levels, while a custom wet bar, detailed millwork, and decorative ceiling treatments established an authentic English pub atmosphere with modern functionality.
Key Design Features
- Custom Omega cabinetry with Silestone Coral Clay quartz countertops
- Custom wet bar featuring an Elkay sink with Kohler plumbing fixtures

Outcome
